The Hukums BLT-700 is a robust, industrial-grade 12 V automotive battery load tester, designed to check battery health under realistic cranking conditions. Capable of applying up to 450 A load, it works for batteries in the 32–180 Ah range — making it ideal for cars, e-rickshaws, workshops and service stations.
Automotive mechanics, garages, and service bays
Battery retailers or service centres
Fleet operators who maintain multiple vehicles
Hobbyists or EV/e-rickshaw repairers
Anyone who needs to reliably test the real capacity and health* of 12 V lead-acid or VRLA batteries
Simulates real-world starter load: ensures accurate diagnosis of weak or failing batteries
Multiple selectable load levels (100 / 175 / 300 / 450 A) for different battery sizes
Copper-alloy clamps with brass terminals ensure strong, reliable contact
Built-in safety through miniature DC circuit breaker to protect from short circuit
Analog ammeter to monitor charging current and voltage during the test
Portable – weighs only ~7 kg, easy to move around in a workshop
1-year manufacturer warranty for peace of mind
Preparation:
Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free from corrosion.
Fully charge the battery before testing to get accurate results.
Place the load tester on a stable, non-flammable surface.
Connection:
Attach the copper-alloy clamps securely to the battery terminals (+ to +, – to –).
Make sure the connection is firm; poor contact can affect test accuracy.
Select Load:
Based on battery’s Ah rating, set the rotary switch to the correct load (100 / 175 / 300 / 450 A).
Use a lower load for smaller batteries; high load for large capacity ones.
Test:
Press the push-button to apply load.
Read the analog ammeter to monitor how much current is being drawn.
Observe the voltage drop under load. A strong battery will maintain voltage; weak will drop significantly.
Safety & Reset:
The circuit breaker will protect the load tester in case of overload / short.
After test, release button, remove clamps, and let the tester cool down before next use if needed.
Maintenance:
Store in a dry, dust-free environment.
Regularly check clamps for oxidation.
Avoid exposing to high humidity or corrosive surroundings.

Buying Guide Tips
Choose right load setting: Use the right amperage as per your battery’s Ah rating to avoid over-stressing or under-testing.
Prioritise safety: Make sure clamps are tight; wrong connection can lead to arcing.
Use for diagnosis, not drain: The BLT-700 is meant for short tests; do not stress a battery for long durations repeatedly.
Calibration check: Periodically check or recalibrate if used heavily in a workshop to ensure accuracy.
